Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Sanctuary Media platform at sanctuarymedia.com("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of a church, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Sanctuary Media provides an AI-powered content creation platform for churches. You upload sermon video recordings, and our automated pipeline generates deliverables including:

  • Full sermon transcripts
  • Sermon summaries
  • Blog posts
  • Social media captions (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X)
  • YouTube descriptions
  • Short-form video clips
  • Podcast-ready audio
  • Email newsletter content

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

  • Create an account with a valid email address and password
  • Provide your church or organization name
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at info@sanctuary-media.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

4.1 Plans

We offer Free, Starter, Growth, and Pro subscription tiers. Each tier includes a monthly sermon processing limit and specific feature access. Details are available on our Pricing page.

4.2 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge the payment method on file at the applicable rate for your selected plan and billing cycle.

4.3 Free Tier

The Free tier allows one (1) sermon per month with limited features. No payment information is required for the Free tier.

4.4 Upgrades and Downgrades

You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time through the Billing section of your dashboard or the Stripe Customer Portal. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

4.5 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, your paid features will remain active until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account will revert to the Free tier. Stored content will be subject to the retention policy of your previous tier.

4.6 Refunds

Because sermon processing consumes compute resources upon upload, we generally do not offer refunds for sermons that have already been processed. If you experience a service failure where your sermon was not successfully processed, contact us and we will either re-process it or issue a credit at our discretion.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

  • Upload content that you do not have the right to distribute
  • Upload content that is obscene, defamatory, threatening, or otherwise unlawful
  • Attempt to circumvent sermon processing limits or other account restrictions
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use the Service to compete directly with Sanctuary Media
  • Share your account credentials with unauthorized parties
  • Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service outside of our provided interfaces
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

6. Content Ownership and License

6.1 Your Content

You retain full ownership of all sermon recordings, transcripts, and other content you upload to or generate through the Service ("Your Content"). We do not claim any ownership rights over Your Content.

6.2 License to Us

By uploading content, you grant Sanctuary Media a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process, store, and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license terminates when Your Content is deleted from our systems.

6.3 AI-Generated Content

Content generated by our AI tools (summaries, blog posts, social captions, etc.) is derived from Your Content and belongs to you. You are free to use, modify, publish, and distribute all AI-generated deliverables without restriction.

6.4 No Training Use

We do not use Your Content or AI-generated outputs to train machine learning models. Your sermon content is processed in real time and is not retained for model improvement purposes.

7. Data Storage and Deletion

7.1 Content Retention

Processed sermon content is stored for a period determined by your subscription tier:

  • Starter: 30 days
  • Growth: 90 days
  • Pro: 180 days

After the retention period, content is automatically and permanently deleted from our storage systems. We recommend downloading your content before the retention window expires.

7.2 Temporary Processing Files

Intermediate files created during processing (raw uploads, extracted audio, working files) are stored temporarily in AWS S3 and deleted automatically once processing completes.

7.3 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at info@sanctuary-media.com. We will remove your data within 30 days of the request.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. Processing times depend on video length, file size, and current system load. Typical processing takes 15 to 45 minutes per sermon.

We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications to the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • AI-generated content will be free of errors, theologically accurate, or suitable for all purposes
  • Transcriptions will be 100% accurate
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free
  • Sermon boundary detection (identifying where the sermon starts and ends within a full service recording) will be perfectly accurate in all cases

You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before publishing or distributing it.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SANCTUARY MEDIA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF REVENUE, OR LOSS OF REPUTATION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sanctuary Media, its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your publication or distribution of content generated through the Service
  • Any claim that Your Content infringes the intellectual property or other rights of a third party

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 6 (Content Ownership), 9 (Disclaimer), 10 (Limitation of Liability), and 11 (Indemnification) survive termination.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
